Update - June 20, 2025
It’s been longer than I wanted since the last update. I started a new job in April and it’s taking up way too much time. I’m spending between 3-4hrs each day commuting in LA traffic. By the time I get home at 7pm, have dinner and check in with the family. It’s too late for me to start anything on the diorama.
…anyway, enough of my sob story, here is a round up on the little bits I have managed in the last 3 months.
Water Tower
The water tower is finished. Everything was 3D printed. The brick base and tank is from PJD1975 on Cults3d.com I designed the water spout myself. I’m happy with how everything came out. The tank is weathered quite rusty, but it hasn’t come out well in the pictures.
I still need to airbrush the new ballast the same colour as the rest of the yard.
Telegraph Poles
I 3D printed some telegraph poles and planted them along the back wall. The telephone “wire” is black cotton.
I know the poles are placed too close to mimic real life, but I like the visual. (Rule number 1 applying here)
I 3D printed and installed rain gutters on the workshop.
…and this time around I leave you with a picture of the Diorama as it looks today.
I still need to finish the bottom left corner. I have a 1970s style office building that I’ve 3D printed and am slowly putting together.
Thank you for checking in.
