This is a scratch-built model based somewhat on the ScaleScenes bus depot kit. It was another kit I bought years ago that I tried to build and failed due to my inability to cut very well.
I took the basic concept of John’s kit and created my own version in Inkscape.
The file was sent to my Laser Cutter and then the pieces were wrapped in ScaleScenes Aged Red Brick papers. I also used the blue brick and concrete papers from ScaleScenes.
Once again the Laser Cutter enabled me to get complete accuracy in the walls, and everything else.
Everything you see was cut out on the laser, including all the interior parts including the roof trusses.
Benches, tool chest, lockers. All cut on the laser.
The Depot forman needs to tell his men to clean up…
The picture below is a great example of something personally cant achieve cutting by hand. These roof sections were cut on the Laser, and they fit perfectly. I just couldn’t achieve that.
The roof was covered in rusty corrugated sheet paper. The skylights were glazed with clear plastic packaging material, and I sprinkled some leaf litter.
I was impressed with how the Laser etched the sign.
A few more outdoor shots. I’m really happy with how this came out.
